Penventory

This has to be done sooner or later. All pen freaks addicts (is addict any better?) lose track of what they have, and begin to wonder about it. I decided to do a complete inventory of all pens, pencils, erasers, and correction tapes. It was an epic undertaking. I totally underestimated what I had and how much space it would take up.

With this being shared, you can expect some more giveaways in the near future...

Yeah. A bit disturbing. I'm glad Kevin didn't come home while I was doing this.

I originally was gonna go all judgmental about how many pens that was. But sitting here surrounded by four pen cups of my favorite pens and two work pen drawers and two home pen drawers and four boxes of notebooks and post-its, I decided that might be a touch hypocritical. :-)

ROFLMAO!!! "I'm glad Kevin didn't come home while I was doing this"

Oh my word. And I thought I was bad...
Kevin wasn't home, but does he read your blog? I'm afraid you've outed yourself here...
Lol! Good luck with organizing that!

You remind me of why I'm glad I am single and live alone. No significant other to grouse and no pets to chew on the inventory. Of course there's only my bank account to guard me at the stores and online . . .

So do you share any of your toys with him?

You definitely have an extensive inventory :)

Azizah, I want to spread your pens on the floor and roll all over~~ Your collection is yummy!
Kinda looks like when I take out all of my nail polishes on the table :D

Are your purging/selling? (I'd be interested)

That's a lot of pens :)

Must be something in the air...just did a pen check recently (and massive pen giveaway) and seeing them all together made me step back and say wow, I need to cut back on my Japanese stationery addiction. It's so lovely to see I'm not the only one with a bazillion pens. :D

By the way, those pics made me salivate a little bit...especially the Pilot Hi-Tec-Cs. Swoon.

HOLY COW! I'm a high school teacher and have about 200 students on the roster. I thought my plastic box of pens for them was abundant (about 50?). I was wrong. I'm also envious of your collection. I love your significant other comment... hilarious. It's not like you came home with a car. :)

Azizah Asgarali said...

LOL yeah, it could have been worse! I mean.... I write a pen blog... It's practically a requirement that I have a lot of pens, right??

Azizah Asgarali said...

Hey, I'd trade them all and then some for your flock of Pelikans ;)

Azizah Asgarali said...

Kevin is good. He wouldn't say anything negative... he'd just laugh at me and shake his head hehe. I'd be helpless if it was up to my own willpower to control myself!

He doesn't care about pens like I do, so I rarely have to share muahahaha

Azizah Asgarali said...

LOL he ended up reading this post! Rats. That's okay though. He knows I'm completely insane. I'm sure he'll feel less alone now, knowing that everyone else knows I'm completely insane too.

In my defense, I only bought about half of it!! The rest has been from giveaways and things sent for review! Is that a good enough defense? No. Probably not.

Azizah Asgarali said...

No fountain pens in here :) That will be a post for another day... hee hee!

Azizah Asgarali said...

He'd probably have come in, taken one look at me, and walked right back out hahahah

Azizah Asgarali said...

LOL!! I'm glad you came to your senses ;) Hey. If we use them all, there's nothing wrong with having them right?? No one objects when an artist has a lot of paintbrushes!

Azizah Asgarali said...

I love Hi-Tec-C pictures as well :D The colors just look awesome. I've added your blog to my RSS now :) Sigh. I'd cut back... if they'd stop making such adorable stationery!! It's not our fault.

Azizah Asgarali said...

BUAHAHAH Kevin and I had a good chuckle over your "spread your pens on the floor and roll all over" LOL! Anything in particular catching your eyeball?

JustDaveyB said...

No as Gollum says they are my precioussssssssssss :)

Wow, that is seriously a lot of pens. I think even my local stationery store doesn't have that many pens in stock. I am envious. Your collection of pens would eat my collection for breakfast.

Azizah Asgarali said...

LOL it's a little disgusting though, isn't it? I don't have a lot of doubles though, just in the Hi-Tec-Cs where I like certain colors a lot... I've started (well.... I'm trying to..) do art journaling which uses up a lot of ink. I like it though.

Wow, that's impressive! I give my spare pens to charity so I don't actually have that many!

That is a lot of pens! I have a lot of pens, but not that many.

I have my cups and drawers of pens, but I also started making pens on a lathe this year. So now they also accumulate from a hobby. I put them on etsy and perhaps selling a few will fund my hobby (and then I can make more). If you want to see my custom pens on etsy, check out http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheLathe

Azizah Asgarali said...

Awesome. I'll check it out :)

Azizah Asgarali said...

Buahahha I hear ya! I have been trying to whittle down the piles though! Do you get to use all your goodies? (My wishlist is also far too long... I try to whittle that down too but always fail...)

TrixieinDixie said...

I'd be lying if I said I actually do use them all, but I've decided to call myself a "collector" so it doesn't seem as wackadoo. That works, right? ;-)
