Review: Saki Roll Pen Case + Traditional Japanese Fabric @JetPens

So, all of a sudden I realized I needed more pen wraps, because the Sula Jane & Earl 4-Pen Wrap and 3-Pen Wrap sparked some kind of addiction.

The Saki P-661 roll pen case with traditional Japanese fabric is a pretty, attractive little pen wrap. I selected the dark red fabric, which is indeed a deep blood red, with a cream complicated star-like pattern. The inside is black, which is a nice complement to the rest of the colour scheme. The string is a thick black fabric cord that wraps around the whole case. There is a flap that folds over the caps of the pens before the case is rolled up. I had a really hard time picking between all the colours available!

There is one minor drawback to the case, which is that the case is fairly short. As such, longer pens can fit in the case, but their clips don't reach the wrap and can't clip on completely (only the ends of the clips can reach), so they just float around in the pocket.

Although the top flap does fold over to help hold them in place, the pens are still quite loose. "Normal" length pens and shorter pens fit well, but some of my fountain pens tend to be quite long, or have shorter clip styles. Just something to pay attention to.

I really like the black inner lining because if any pens should smear or spill, the lining is cotton and absorbs inks and spills pretty well. It keeps the case looking clean and nice.

Overall, it's a very attractive, elegant pen case that is well made and convenient. I very much like it and I think at $13.00USD, it's quite affordable. Also, the colours.

I received this pen case free of charge for the purposes of this review. I was not compensated monetarily for my review. Everything you've read here is my own opinion. There are no affiliate links in this review.
