P.W. Akkerman Trêves Turquoise Ink

To mark our 100 years of existence, PW Akkerman introduced in 2010 his own ink line. This ink’s came in large 150 ml bottles, these large bottles are now completely sold out.
 
Due to the worldwide success of this unique bottle we decided to continue, but now with a smaller sized bottle with a content of ca 60 ml. The new bottles will be available in the same 31 colors as before. 

The Akkerman inks have been given names related to the city The Hague. For example: KoninginneNach-Blauw, Binnenhof Blues, Shocking Blue, Parkpop Purper or/and Rood Haags Pluch.

P.W. Akkerman Treeves Turquoise is a pure turquoise - right in the blue scale without too much yellow or green in there. When I think of turquoise, this is the kind of blue I think of. It's pretty easy to clean, it's fairly well-behaved, and it shades nicely. Looks great in wide, broad, wet writers, but performs just as well in finer nibs as well. A go-to turquoise!

P.W. Akkerman Simplisties Violet Ink

P.W. Akkerman Simplisties Violet is a beautiful purple and I like it much more than the blue-toned Parkpop Purper. It has the right level of vibrancy to it and it still shows shading. Like most purples, it requires some attention to cleaning but it's certainly not a limiting factor for enjoying this color.

P.W. Akkerman Royal Akkermanblauw Ink

P.W. Akkerman Royal Akkermanblauw is easily one of my favorite, go-to Akkerman inks. It's an easy-to-clean, super well-behaved, classic blue that is just hard to argue with. I used to use it all the time for pen reviews until I ran out of it, but I just want you to know how stellar and classy it is. I love it. Totally worth having a bottle around.

P.W. Akkerman Parkpop Purper Ink

P.W. Akkerman Parkpop Purper is probably one of my least favorite Akkerman inks. I just find it a bit too flat for a purple - I like vibrant purples and this one just doesn't feel that way to me. It's a bit too blue, I guess. Bluebonnet purple? I'm not sure. Either way, it's a relief because it's at least one bottle I don't have to own. I only had an ink sample here so no bottle to show you.

P.W. Akkerman Mauritshuis Magenta Ink

P.W. Akkerman Maurishuis Magenta is a spectacular, vibrant, intense magenta ink that looks great pretty much in anything. It does not require a broad, stubby writer to look good. I love it. It's fairly saturated so try to avoid leaving it to dry out in your pens because flushing it out is not so fun that way, but I highly recommend it. It even has some great shading. Love.

P.W. Akkerman Oranje Boven Ink

P.W. Akkerman Oranje Boven is a pretty juicy, classic orange ink. Low on shading but the coverage is quite high. Not much in the way of sheen, either. It's just a yummy, juicy orange ink. Not too bad to clean but it can dry out in your pen and create some crust on your nib. Don't panic, it won't hurt your pen. Just wipe it off. Overall, a yummy orange.
