IncoWriMo 2018 Get Ready to Write! @InCoWriMo

INCOWRIMO 2018!

What is InCoWriMo?

Ink-a-what? InCoWriMo stands for International Correspondence Writing Month.

When is InCoWriMo?

February. It starts the first day of February and ends on the last day! Beat those winter blues with a month full of snail mail love!

Why InCoWriMo?

It's fun! Make use of those pens, papers, inks, stickers, and everything else you have that is snail mail-friendly! Share your colors

What do you do?

Write a letter, postcard, note, doodle, sketch, whatever you want - put it on a piece of paper, fill a notebook, soil a napkin - just write to one recipient every day for the entire month of February.

Can I write extra letters to catch up?

Absolutely. You can even write 28 letters on the last day if you wish, but it's more relaxing to do one a day.

Who do I write to?

You can write to anyone you want. Friends, family, your neighbor, your teacher, your significant other, your cat... it doesn't matter. The goal is to send out 28 letters. You can swap addresses with other pen lovers and snail mailers on InCoWriMo.org

Do my recipients have to write back?

It would be fun if your recipients are willing and able to reply to your InCoWriMo correspondence, but not everyone will be able to or wants to. Remember: your goal is to spread your snail mail love!

How do I write a letter?

If you're nervous, keep it simple. Who are you? What's your name? Share some of your likes and dislikes. What pen are you using? What ink are you using?

A Handwritten Letter From Jesse Aston

Journal addicts, I know you're all jealous. I have here a handwritten letter from Jesse Aston of I Art Books, maker of gorgeous journals. We thought it would be fun to do a blog post swap in the best style possible - handwritten form!

Without further ado...
Blogpost Swap with Jesse
Unfortunately, my stupid blog's column is too small to have this nicely sized in all its glory, so here are the individual links to read them up close if you can't see it here - part one and two. My apologies. This is why I should have had this blog designed properly. By someone who knows what they're doing.

Jesse will be on FPtv tomorrow, Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 8:00 a.m PST - that's 10 a.m Azizah time. ... If your time zone is not those two, I'm sorry. I don't do time zones. Jesse will be giving away one of his beautiful leather journals with the infamous Tomoe River paper, but which one he gives away will depend on how many viewers we have - so spread the word!

Follow Jesse’s blog, Aston Handmade, or browse his store and gallery.

Once again, lots of blurring out for privacy! Well... not really for privacy in this case, but just so the recipient still gets a special letter than not everyone has read!

Mailbox Goodies: Paper & Michaels

First up - I received a bunch of Tomoe River paper! Woo! I've already started using it to write letters :)
Tomoe River Paper
This awesome haul cost me like, $12. I kid you not. The Rapidograph was on clearance from $27.99 to $14.99, and she let me use the 50% off one (regular) item coupon on it, as well as everything else. Not bad, right?

Outgoing InCoWriMo Letters

Just some snail mail porn for you to look at, in case you are interested in what goes on on my end! If you'd like to receive a letter from me, send me an email with your address, or DM on Twitter!
Outgoing Mail
Envelopes look really weird without recipient addresses on them. Like people, without eyebrows.
Outgoing Mail
I'm not very good at decorating envelopes. So I am hoping to wow my recipients with my incredible letters. Or not.
I have been using a variety of fountain pens and inks, for the most part, with the occasional gel pen thrown in. Here's a little look see at what I've been up to!
TWSBI Diamond 540 1.1mm stub + Pelikan Edelstein Turmaline
I love pink in this pen. Refilled it a few times with this ink - Pelikan Edelstein Turmaline.
Close Up
I like this picture. No filter!
Pilot G2 Pink Gel Pen
Pink Pilot G-2 gel pen.
Close Up
I used my Waterman 12 eyedropper loaded with the remainder of my Diamine Ancient Copper sample (yes. I have been blabbing about this ink all week, sorry.)
Close Ups of Page Numbers
I used a different pen + ink combination for each page here! Both sides are different!
Shading
Yummy.
Colour Matched
Magical. The envelope and lighting makes this turquoise Lamy Safari look somewhat more green, and I like it!
Pretty Pens
Have you noticed I'm obsessed with that acrylic pen now?
TWSBI Diamond 540 EF + Sailor Apricot
A cute combination, no?
