Review: Le Typographe A5 Pad - Orange Grid @NoteMakerTweets

NoteMaker has been extremely generous, and have sent some paper over for me to check out. This is the Le Typographe A5 Pad with orange grid. I've been thoroughly enjoying it (which is why I'm so slow to post a review on it), scribbling all over it with my writing practice, and such.

Oh yeah. This is delicious. Le Typographe orange grid pad is an eye-catching notepad, that's for sure. It'll get your attention! It's a simple A5 notepad of white paper. Each page has an orange fluorescent grid on it, set within indented margins. The top of the pad is glue-bound with a bright, solid fluorescent orange.

The grid ruling is quite small; around 2 mm.

PERFORMANCE & FEEL

This paper is smooth to the touch but has a small amount of tooth to it - just about the perfect combination, especially if you don't like super smooth, coated paper.

The paper is a delectable 100 gsm, which no doubt contributes to its fountain pen friendliness. It's truly excellent with fountain pens - no feathering, no bleed through, and minimal show through.

The paper behaves so well - it helps show off ink shading. Ink looks really clean and matte on the page. Drying times vary based on nib, ink, and wetness of nib. Drying times were not unusually long though - between 20 seconds and 60 seconds. Smudging is not an issue once the ink has dried.

Aside from fountain pens, this pad is also great with pencils, ballpoints, gel pens, roller balls, and marker pens. Sakura Gelly Roll pens have vibrant ink to match the bright orange grid - it's a really fun combination. However, you  may as well stick to fountain pens, because the paper is too good not to.

Sometimes the orange grid lines show through the fountain pen inks, depending on the ink. Writing remains completely legible. It's an interesting effect.

OVERALL
This is really lovely paper. This would be even greater in a notebook!

This is also available with a green grid, so if that doesn't make you want both the orange and green, maybe you're not nuts. This is excellent fountain pen paper, either to spoil yourself with, or someone else!
