Ink Shot Review: Sailor Jentle Sky High

It pains me that this ink was discontinued, and I still can't figure out why they did it. What cruelty. This is one of my preferred blues!

OVERALL

I absolutely love this ink and was crushed when they discontinued it. When I found out, I stocked up... maybe not enough... Anyway, it's one of my absolute favorite blues. It's such a pretty, not boring blue with an exquisite sheen. If you can pick up a bottle before the price sky rockets, do it!

Wonder Pens is also out. I can't seem to find it anywhere, except for Amazon for $80.

You should give Sailor Souten a try. It is remarkably similar, maybe a bit lighter but it might even have a bit more sheen.

Seems like its too late they are gone everywhere...:( I've heard that Souten is supposed to be the substitute of sky-high, have you tried it? Are they really similar in color?

So what's the dry time like on your tongue? Is it waterproof? :)

Haven't tried it, but @Rob says they're very similar, so probably worth a shot :)

Awesome, I'll try it out! Thank you!

Yeah it really is gorgeous and the name is... epic. Too bad.

It was such a huge disappointment when this ink was discontinued. In my search for a replacement, I've found that Diamine Sargasso Sea has comparable hue, shading, and sheen (with that nice hint of red), especially on Tomoe River paper, albeit slightly darker and red-shifted towards violet.
