PROS
  • Affordable.
  • A "reasonable" amount of ink if you enjoy using different colors.
  • I think this is a truly spectacular purple - deep, pure.
  • Great shading.
  • Intense sheen.

CONS
  • If you use this in a very wet pen, it can take a long time to dry. Even then, it may be smudgy.
  • Careful with cleaning - the intense color may stain.
  • Normal flow unless it dries out so don't leave it to dry out in your pens.
OVERALL

Fair price, truly gorgeous purple color. If you use it with wet writers, it's even more fun because of the seriously wicked sheen on it. This one is really fun for hand lettering and calligraphy work (not that I'm any good, but it's fun).

As with Jungle Volcano, I did have some issues with drying. With regular writing, the drying times were acceptable but with inky messes/splats/artwork, the sheen remained smudgy. Most people would probably not use an ink in that way but I'm just putting that warning out there. I found it a little messy for cleaning because it is quite saturated. I didn't stain the sink or granite, at least. Quite a fun color to play with! As with most inks, it looks best with wetter, broader writers.

This is a sponsored post. Krishna Inks is compensating me for my time and efforts. I will remain as unbiased as I possibly can, I promise. I received this item free of charge for the purposes of this review.
