Review: Montblanc Je T'aime Love Letter Ink

This 2005 Montblanc Love Letter fountain pen ink was generously sent to me by Steven! This is the 2005 original release. Thank you so much Steven. I am honored and so excited to get to review this ink! Also, I love to sniff things and often the first thing I do when I get an ink is sniff it. How perfect, since this is scented...

  • Gorgeous red, aptly described by "love letter".
  • Smells like liquid roses.
  • Dries fast.
  • Shades nicely, especially in broad nibs.
  • Well-behaved.
  • Smell remains while ink is wet and will remain on the page for awhile.

     CONS
    • Not water-resistant.
    OVERALL

Is there anything more romantic than an ink called Love Letter that smells like rose oil? Not disgusting, artificial roses, but actual roses? It's beautiful. It's a beautiful red that is a joy to write with and is a treat for the senses. I only wish it were water resistant and that the scent of roses would last longer. Nevertheless, it's absolutely delightful. I hope Montblanc releases this ink again. I would buy it in a heartbeat. (Get it? Heartbeat?)

Thank you Azizah! This is beautiful. But I don't know why, the one I have has a different bottle.

Montblanc has one called "Ink of love" now. It is also red, but I do not think if it is a scented one... Actually it is part of series of 3 Inks. Ink of Love - red, Ink of Joy - bright orange and Ink of something I cannot remeber :)

Love everything about this ink! I will have to keep my eyes open for a re-release of it...in the mean time the Pilot Irishizuku red looks intriguing!

Aw man, another ink to my wishlist :/ I actually think I saw a writing sample of this way back this past summer, when I stopped for the first time by a Montblanc Store (it was a sight, I was in a denim skirt and flip-flops and everything was so fancy there LOL). I NEED to go back now. Sadly, it's around 2.000kms far from my city hahah :)
