Ink Shot Review: J. Herbin Bleu Ocean @BureauDirect

J. Herbin re-released the Bleu Ocean ink, this time with gold particles - like the Stormy Grey. Thanks to Bureau Direct for sending a bottle over for me to review. I couldn't justify another bottle (I already have a bottle of the old Bleu Ocean) so I'm really happy they were willing to part with one for me. PROS
  • Beautiful bottle.
  • Gorgeous gold particles.
  • Adds a lot of pop to your writing.
  • It's what Bleu Ocean should have been to begin with!

CONS
  • The particles stick in your feed - clean it well.
  • The bottle mouth is narrow so not all pens will fit in there to ink them.
  • It feathers and bleeds - very heavy ink.

OVERALL

This is a beautiful ink. The blue is a deep, intense blue, and the gold particles on top add some serious pop. Not the easiest ink to clean from your pens and the ink can stain, so do be careful what you put it in. If you have some knock about pens, it's worth the pleasure.

Awesome review as usual. I have a bottle of the original color and feel somewhat shafted. I hate when they change the formula like that. I mean, I wish they'd done the gold flakes the first time around.

Definitely have to get this one for my wife, whose favorite color is blue and favorite language is French. Stunning ink, and wonderful review. Thanks, Azizah!
