Review: P.W Akkerman Shocking Blue Ink

This ink was a gift with purchase at P.W Akkerman in Den Haag. SBRE Brown purchased his grail pen - the Visconti Opera Master Demo fountain pen - and we were allowed to pick a bottle of ink to go along with it. I picked P.W Akkerman Shocking Blue!

PROS
  • Outstanding sheen.
  • A professional, work-appropriate colour, but also beautiful enough to be fun to use any time. 
  • Relatively easy to clean, for a dark colour with a sheen.

CONS
  • Somewhat thicker, dry ink - needs some maintenance. (Pen flushing, regular use while in pen.)
  • No water resistance whatsoever.
OVERALL

Highly recommended. This is a stunning ink. Simple as that.

I actually use just my iPhone 5 + a loupe like this one http://www.andersonpens.com/product-p/loupe-30.htm or something similar. I have a couple.
